given: a4=3(a1); a2+1=2(a3)

a2+1=2(a3)

a+d+1=2(a+2d)

a+d+1=2a+4d

-3d+1=a..........1

a4=3(a1)

a+3d=3a

2a=3d

2(-3d+1)=3d

-6d+2=3d

2=9d

d=2/9

subs d in 1

-3d+1=a

-3(2/9)+1=a

a=-2/3+1

a=(-2+3)/3

a=1/3
