The parent cell will have ‘2n’ chromosomes.

•If the gamete has n no of chromosomes then the parent cell would have 2n no of chromosomes.

•At the end of meiosis there are four daughter cells formed from parent cells.

•Each daughter has half the no of chromosomes than parent cell.

•Like if the parent cell has 2n then each the egg or sperm has n.

•the When two parent cells fertilize then the chromosome count becomes 2n.

•Hence the offspring are different from the parent cells in sexual reproduction as each set chromosome comes from two different parents.
