If the graph of a linear equation passes through two points then the equation is​  y=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} x+c .

Equation of line passes through two points will be y =mx+c.

where, m= \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}  (for two points) and c is the y-intercept.

So, the equation can also be written as y=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} x+c .

If the graph of a linear equation passes through two points (x₁ , y₁) and (x₂ , y₂) then the equation is​ given by :

y-y_1=(\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} )(x-x_1)

Linear Equation is of the form ax + by + c = 0  where a , b and c are real numbers and  a² + b² ≠ 0

Slope intercept form:

y = mx + c

where m is the slope and c is the y intercept

Intercept form

(x/a) +  (y/b)  = 1

where a is x intercept  and  b is y intercept

When two points are given (x₁ , y₁) and (x₂ , y₂) then the equation is​ given by :   y-y_1=(\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} )(x-x_1)  

or  y-y_2=(\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} )(x-x_2)
