If the graph of quadratic polynomial ax²+bx+c cuts negative direction of y-axis, then what is the sign of c? Justify ur ans

Answer:

If it cuts at negative direction of y-axis, it that one factor of the equation is negative.

Now the second factor can be positive as well as negative.

If the second factor is positive then c would have minus sign but if the second factor is also negative then c would have plus sign.

So it depends on the sign of the second factor.
