current \: perimeter \: = 2(l + b) \\ = 2 \times (10 + 16) \\ = 2 \times 26 \\ = 52 cm \\ \\ \\ the \: new \: perimeter \: will \: be \: </p><p> = 10 + 16 + 10 + (16 - 8) + 5 + 5 + 8 \\ = 10 + 10 + 8 + 8 + 16 + 5 + 5 \\ = 62cm \\ \\ \\ therefore \: the \: perimeter \: will \: increase \: by \: 52 - 62 = 10 \: unts

B. It will decrease by26 units

Explanation

Change in perimeter = perimeter of bigger rectangle- perimeter of smaller rectangle

Perimeter of bigger rectangle = 2(10+16) units
= 52 units
Perimeter of small rectangle = 2(5+8)
=2 x 13
= 26
Change in perimeter = 52-26
=26units
