all you need is the conversion factor for lbs to grams, which is 453.6g per pound, so if a quarter pound hamburger is 20% protein that means that it has

0.2*0.25(453.6) grams of protein or 22.68 g

and if the fat content is 25%, then the amount of fat is equal to

0.25 * 0.25(453.6) grams of fat or 28.35 g

since a quarter pound in grams is 0.25(453.6) or 113.4 g

To answer this question we need to know the conversion formula from pounds (lb) to grams.

The conversion formula is as follows :

1 pound(lb) = 453.592 grams

We first need to convert the lb to grams .

The answer is :

= 1/4 × 453.592 = 113.398 g

We now get the amount of protein and fat:

Protein = 20/100 × 113.398 = 22.6796 g

Fat = 25/100 × 113.398 = 28.3495 g

In that way we have calculated the respective components in grams.

Note: To make it easier and simpler you should always convert to the smaller units as he question guides.
