If the H+ concentration is 0.000001 M, what is the pOH of the solution?

Given conditions ⇒

[H⁺] = 0.000001 M = 10⁻⁶ M.

Using the Formula,

pH = - log[H⁺]

⇒ pH = -log[10⁻⁶]

∴ pH = 6log10

∴ pH = 6


Now, For pOH,

pH + pOH = 14

⇒ pOH = 14 - 6

∴ pOH = 8
