Let the height of the pole be x

∵ height of the pole = length of the shadow

∴ the length the shadow = x

let the angle of elevation of the sun be Ф

then.

tanФ = x/x

or, tanФ = 1

or, tanФ = tan45° .......................(∵ tan45° = 1)

∴ Ф = 45°

kritiKumari1: tan theta =x/x
kritiKumari1: how
atandrit: since the pole and the shadow will be perpendicular to each other,
kritiKumari1: please draw fig
atandrit: hence, tan theta = x/x as tan thete = height /base
kritiKumari1: ok
kritiKumari1: thanks
atandrit: pls. mark my answer the brainliest
