IF THE HIMALAYAS WERE NOT PRESENT THE COLD WINDS FROM RUSSIA WOULD FLOW INTO THE INDIAN SUBCONTINENT .
THIS WOULD RESULT INTO COMPLETE CHANGE IN THE LIFESTYLE OF INDIANS.
ALSO THE MOISTURE HOLDING CLOUDS ARE BLOCKED BY THE HIMALAYAS THUS RESULTING INTO HUGE PRECIPITATION IN THE NORTHEN PARTS. THUS HALF OF INDIA GETS WATER FORM THE GREAT HIMALAYAS
