Answer:

AB=10cm

CD=EF=2.5cm

EC=FD=5cm

Trapezium ABCD has height =10−5=5cm

Area of the shaded part = Area of rectangle CEFD+ Area of trapezium ABCD

=2.5×5+

Answer:

Question:-

If the diagonal of a square is 10 cm, then find the area of the square.

Solution:-

We know that all the angles of a square are equal to 90 degrees. So if we draw a diagonal in the square, it will form two right angles.

All sides of a square are equal. This means that the base and perpendicular of the right angled triangle will be equal.

By Pythagoras Theore:-

(P)² + (B)² = (H)²

(x)² + (x)² = (10)²

x² + x² = 100

2x² = 100

x² = 50

x = √50

x = 5√2

One side of square = 5√2 cm

Area = (side)²

= (5√2)²

= (5)² × (√2)²

= 25 × 2

= 50 cm²

OR

x = √50

Area = (√50)²

= 50 cm²

Hope it helps
