Explanation:

Initial K.E. = E1 = 1/2 mu^2

Final K.E. = E2 = 1/2 mv^2 ..... (1)

Also, E2 = 4E1 (if it is increased by 300% it means that it has become 4 times of its initial value)

So, E2 = 4 × (1/2 mu^2) ...... (2)

From (1) and (2),

4 × 1/2 mu^2 = 1/2 mv^2

4u^2 = v^2

v = 2u

So,

Final momemtum = mv = m (2u) = 2mu

Percentage increase = (2mu - mu)/mu × 100

= mu/mu × 100 = 100%
