The mass of the particle remains same. that means the 60% increase in momentum is 60% increase in velocity. the kinetic energy is proportional to the square of velocity so the new kinetic energy is 1.6^2 =2.56 times of initial K.E. so the net change in K.E. is 1.56 times of initial K.E.
