x/y = 2 + 3/y now substitute x = 36-y

(36-y)/y = 2 + 3/y multiply equation by y

36-y = 2y + 3

33 = 3y

y = 11

x = 25

Check

11 + 25 = 36

25/11 = 2 remainder 3
