Let the length, breadth and height of the cuboid be 5x,3x and 2x respectively.

We know that the volume of the cuboid is l×b×h.

It is given that the volume of the cuboid is 35.937 m3, therefore,

35.937=5x×3x×2x⇒30x3=35.937⇒x3=3035.937=1.197⇒x=31.197⇒x=0.33

Therefore, the length l=5x=5×0.33=1.65, breadth b=3x=3×0.33=0.99 and height h=2x=2×0.33=0.66

Now, the total surface area of cuboid is 2(lb+bh+hl), therefore, the total surface area with length 1.65 m, breadth 0.99 m and height

Correct Question :

If the length and breadth of a Cuboid shaped object are in the ratio of 5:3 and the volume is 180 cm³ and height of the object is 3cm, find length and breadth of the object.

Given :

⬤ Length and Breadth of Cuboid are in the Ratio 5:3 .

⬤ Volume of Cuboid is 180 cm³ .

⬤ Height of Cuboid Shaped Object is 3 cm .

To Find :

⬤ Length and Breadth of Cuboid Shaped Object .

Formula Used :

\sf[\:{Volume=Length\times{Breadth}\times{Height}\:]}

Solution :

Let :

  • Length of Rectangle be 5x
  • Breadth of Rectangle be 3x

Now :

According to the Formula :

180 = l × b × h

180 = 5x × 3x × 3

180/3 = 15x²

60 = 15x²

60/15 = x²

√4 = x

2 = x

Therefore , The Value of x is 2

Hence ,

Length of Cuboid = 5x

= 5(2)

= 10

Breadth of Cuboid = 3x

= 3(2)

= 6

Therefore , Length of Cuboid is 10 cm and Breadth of Cuboid is 6 cm.

Check :

180 = L × b × h

180 = 10 × 6 × 3

180 = 60 × 3

180 = 180

Hence Checked .
