Given:

✰ Length of a rectangle = 12 cm

✰ Breadth of a rectangle = 15 cm

To find:

✠ Area of a rectangle.

Solution:

Rectangle:

A rectangle is a parallelogram with one of its angle equal to 90°.

Area is the measure of surface enclosed by its boundary. We will use formula to calculate the area of rectangle. Putting the values in the formula and then doing the required calculations.

Let's find out...✧

Area of rectangle = l × b

Where,

  • l is the length of a rectangle.
  • b is the breadth of a rectangle.

Putting the values in the formula, we have:

➤ Area of rectangle = 12 × 15

➤ Area of rectangle = 180 cm²

The required area of rectangle = 180 cm²

Given :

  • Length of Rectangle = 12cm
  • Breadth of Rectangle = 15cm

 \\

To Find :

  • Area of Rectangle

 \\

Solution :

✰ As we know that, Area of Rectangle is given by Length × Breadth. So Simply we will put the given values in the formula to find the area.

Area of Rectangle :

  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Area = 12 × 15
  • Area = 180cm²

Thus Area of Rectangle is 180cm²

What if we need to find perimeter also ?

Perimeter of Rectangle :

  • Perimeter = 2(l + b)
  • Perimeter = 2(12 + 15)
  • Perimeter = 2 × 27
  • Perimeter = 54cm

Additional Info :

Formulas Related to Rectangle:

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b)
  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Length = Area / Breadth
  • Breadth = Area / Length
  • Diagonal = √(l)² + (b)²
