let l be the length and b be the bredth of a rectangle. its perimeter is p1

p1=2(l+b)……………………..(1)

length of new rectangle=2l

bredth of new rectangle=2b

Perimeter of new rectangle=p2

P2=2(2l+2b)

P2=4(l+b)…………………………(2)

divide eq.(1) by (2).

p1/p2=2(l+b)/4(l+b)

p1/p2=1/2

p1=(1/2).p2

Perimeter of old rectangle is half of the perimeter of new rectangle. Answer.
