let length and breadth of the original rectangle be 'l' and 'b' respectively
then its perimeter will be 2( l+b) ......(1)
the length and breadth of the new rectangle which is formed by making half the length and breadth of the original rectangle is l/2 and b/2
now perimeter of the new rectangle = 2( l/2+b/2)
⇒2( l+b/2) ⇒ l+b.....(2)
from(1) and (2),
we observe that new rectangle formed is half the perimeter of the original rectangle..
answer = half times
