Let the length of rectangle = l

the breadth of rectangle = b

Perimeter = 2(l + b)

If the length and breadth is doubled

Length of rectangle = 2l

Breadth of Rectangle = 2b

Perimeter = 2(2l + 2b)

= 2[2(l + b)]

The perimeter of the new rectangle will be double (twice) of original rectangle.

Answer:

2 times

Step-by-step  explanation:

Let the length and breadth of the old rectangle be l and b respectively.

Perimeter of old rectangle

(P1) = 2 (l + b) ....(i)

And, when length and breadth of the old rectangle is doubled. Then, perimeter of the new rectangle (P2) = 2 ( 2l + 2b )

(P2) = 4 (l + b) ....(ii)

On dividing eqⁿ (ii) by (i), we get ;

\sf \dfrac{P2}{P1} = \dfrac{4(l + b)}{2(l + b)}

On  solving  we  get ;

P2 = 2 * P1

Hence, perimeter will be 2 times.
