if we divide the triangle diagonally, we get a right angled triangle from a rectangle.

they gave diagonal=hypotenuse=17cm

one side=15cm

according to pythagorous theorem,

(15)²+x²=(17)²

x²=289-225

x²=64

x=8cm

in a rectangle the angles measure 90 degree

so we can use Pythagoras theorem then ,the length =AB=15 cm and the hypotenuse as diagonal= BC =17 cm and let the other side be CA by Pythagoras AB²+AC²=CB²

15²+AC²=17² =225+AC²=289 =AC²=289-225 =AC =√64 AC=8 CM AND THE WIDTH IS 8CM
