If the length of a diagonal of a quadrilateral is 10 cm and lengths of the perpendiculars on it from opposite vetices are 4 cm and 6 cm then area of the quadrilateral is _____.

bd \: is \: base \:  = 10

bd \: is \:  \: base \:  = 10

height = 4

area \: of \: triangle \:  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 10 \times 4

 = 20 {cm}^{2}

and \: height = 6cm

area \: of \: triangle =  \frac{1}{2}  \times base \times height

area \: of \: triangle =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 10 \times 6

 = 30 {cm}^{2}

in \: triangle \: bcd

Area of quadrilateral = area of triangle ABD +BCD

= 30+20

=50cm²
