Diagonal of square
= side × root 2

so. 6 root 2 = side × root 2
so side = 6

so PERIMETER
= 4 × 6
= 24 cm

and area = 6×6= 36 cm2

Answer:

Perimeter and area of square are 24 cm and 36\ cm ^{2} respectively .

Step-by-step explanation:

To find :  perimeter and area of square .

Given : length of a diagonal of a square is 6 root 2 cm i.e. d = 6\sqrt{2} cm .

Solution :

  • As per given data we know that , length of a diagonal of a square is

        6\sqrt{2} cm . We have to find  perimeter and area of square  .

  • Let , a be the side of square .
  • We know that , diagonal = side of square \sqrt{2}

        i.e. d = a \sqrt{2}

  • Now we have , a\sqrt{2} = 6\sqrt{2}
  • Hence , side of square is a =  6 cm  .
  • Now , area of square = (side )^{2}

                                            = ( 6 )^{2}  \\\\=  36\ cm ^{2}

  • We know that all sides of square are equal then perimeter of square is given by :
  • Perimeter = 4a

                         = 4 ( 6 )\\\\= 24\ cm
