Answer:

The length of the side of the square is 4\sqrt{2} cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Diagonal of a square =  8 cm

            Side of the square = ?

Solution : Let X be the side of the square

Since all internal angles are 90°, the diagonal forms a right angled triangle

So according to pythogorous therom

diagonal² = side² + side²

          8² = X² + X²

        2X² = 64

         X² = 64/2

              = 32

         X = \sqrt{32}

            = \sqrt{16 x 2}

            = 4\sqrt{2} cm
