Let the breadth be x
Length= (x+5)cm
Perimeter=40cm
Perimeter= 2(l+b)
40= 2{(x+5)+(x)}
40=2x+10+2x
40=4x+10
4x=40-10
4x =30
x=30÷4
x =7.5
Breadth=7.5cm
Length= 7.5+5= 12.5cm

Hope I helped u

The length of a rectangle is 5cm more than its breadth.If the perimeter of the rectangle is 70cm.Find its length and breadth.

 \large \purple \leadstoLet the breadth of rectangle be x cm.

 \large \purple \leadstoThen its length = x + 5 cm

 \large \purple \leadstoPerimeter = 2 (Length + Breadth)

\large\pink\leadsto70 = 2 (x + (x+5)

\large\pink\leadsto \sf{ \frac{70}{2} } =2x + 5

\large\pink\leadsto2x + 5 = 35

\large\pink\leadsto2x = 35 - 5 = 30

\large\pink\leadstox =  \sf{ \frac{30}{2}  = 15cm}

 \large \purple \leadstoBreadth = x = 15cm.

Length = x + 5 = 15 + 5 = 20cm
