If the length of a rectangle is decreased by 2 cm. and the length is
increased by 3 cm. then the area is increased by 20 cm square If the length is
increased by 1 cm. and breadth is decreased by 2 cm. then the area is
reduced by 24 cm.square Find the length and breadth of the rectangle.​

Let breadth of rectangle = y

acc. to ques

x-2(y+3) = xy + 20

xy + 3x - 2y - 6 = xy + 20

3x - 2y = 26 ———1

x - 1 (y - 2) = xy + 24

xy - 2x - y + 2 = xy + 24

2x + y = -22

solving this by eleimination method we get

x = 64

putting the valu in eqn 1

we get

y = 23
