hello mate...

length of rectangle=(x+4)

breadth of rectangle=(x+1)

Area of rectangle=length × breadth

(x+4) × (x+1) =x^2 +4

but...area is given 100

x^2=100-4

x^2=96

x= under root of 96

x=2.48
