let original length and breadth be 'l' and 'b' respectively...
original area = lb
modified area = 1.125 l × 0.9 b
% change in area = 1.125×0.9-1 = 0.025 = 1.25 %

Let consider original length =l

and breadth=b

original area = lb

increased length= 1.125l

decreased breadth= .9b

∴ modified area = 1.125 l × 0.9 b

% change in area = 1.125×0.9-1

                             = 0.025

                              =1.25 %%

Ans :- here change in area will be 1.25%.
