➪ As we know that the greatest chord of a circle is its diameter.

⇒ Radius = Diameter / 2

                = 17 / 2

                = 8.5 cm

Radius is 8.5 cm

The question is from very intersting topic of mathematics. The topic is related to Circle. Now let's see basic concept -

  • Diameter - The greatest chord of the circle is known as it's diameter.

  • Radius - Radius is the half of diameter.

This question says that the length of the longest chord of a circle is 17cm then find the radius. And we know that how to find radius. Let's do it...!

{\large{\bold{\bf{\underline{Given \; that}}}}}

{\rm{:\implies Longest \: chord \: or \: Diameter \: = 17 \: cm}}

{\large{\bold{\bf{\underline{To \; find}}}}}

{\rm{:\implies Radius \: of \: the \: circle}}

{\large{\bold{\bf{\underline{Solution}}}}}

{\rm{:\implies Radius \: of \: the \: circle \: = 8.5 \: cm}}

{\large{\bold{\bf{\underline{Using \; concept}}}}}

{\rm{:\implies Radius \: of \: the \: circle \: formula}}

{\large{\bold{\bf{\underline{Using \; formula}}}}}

{\rm{:\implies Radius \: of \: the \: circle \: = \dfrac{Diameter}{2}}}

{\large{\bold{\bf{\underline{Full \; Solution}}}}}

{\rm{:\implies Radius \: of \: the \: circle \: = \dfrac{Diameter}{2}}}

{\rm{:\implies Radius \: of \: the \: circle \: = \dfrac{17}{2}}}

{\rm{:\implies Radius \: of \: the \: circle = \: 8.5 \: cm}}
