Given :

  • Length of the rectangle = 12 cm
  • Breadth of the rectangle = 10 cm

To Find :

  • Perimeter of the rectangle.

Conception :

For calculating the perimeter of rectangle, formula is given by,

  •  \underline{ \underline{ \boxed{ \tt{ Perimeter_{(Rectangle)} = 2 (l +b) }}}}

So, by substituting values, we will calculate the perimeter of rectangle.

Calculations :

Formula -

  •  \underline{ \underline{ \boxed{ \tt{ Perimeter_{(Rectangle)} = 2 (l +b) }}}}

Here,

  • l = length = 12 cm
  • b = breadth = 10 cm

Putting the values in the equation,

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (l + b)

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (12 + 10)

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 2 × 22 cm

Perimeter of rectangle = 44 cm.

Extra Information:

Some important formulae related to rectangles :-

  • Area of rectangle = length × breadth
  • Breadth of rectangle = length ÷ area
  • Length of rectangle = Area ÷ breadth
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (length + breadth)
  • Diagonal of rectangle = √(length)² + (breadth)²

Solution:

Let the length of rectangle be 12 cm and breadth of rectangle be 10 cm.

Need to find: The perimeter of rectangle

As we know that,

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Applying the values,

✎ Perimeter = 2(12 + 10)

✎ Perimeter = 2 × 22

✎ Perimeter = 44 cm

  • Therefore,The perimeter of rectangle is 44cm.
