If the length of the side of a square is halved,what will be the result in its area

friends please help me its scholarship exam portion

Hey dearie! here is your answer...



Let the side of square be x

Then Area = Side×Side = x^2


when,
Side is halved then ,
Side =x/2
Area will be =( x/2)× (x/2)
i.e x^2/4

That is it's area will become 1/4th
