The length of third side is 10cm

- its an isosceles triangle i.e., two sides of the triangle are equal

- if two unequal sides are given

then the third side can be same as either of  the two unequal sides

-Here, the third side can be either 4cm or 10cm

-To decide which one, we make use of triangle inequality,

" Sum of two sides of a triangle is greater than the third side "

-If we take the third side as 4cm, the sum of the equal sides i.e., 4+4 = 8cm which is less than the third side 10cm. Hence third side cannot be 4cm.

-Therefore the third side is 10cm which obeys our inequality
