Given : less than ogive and more than ogive intersect each other at 20.5 and 46.5

To find : median of the given data

Solution:

x - axis generally show the Values

y - axis shows frequency

Median is the x value in intersection point

y  axis show  the 50%  frequency  at the median

less than ogive and more than ogive intersect each other at 50% frequency

Hence 20.5  is the median

46.5 shows 50% cf hence total frequency = 93

Median of given data is 20.5

The less than ogive curve gives cumulative frequency (probability) for x ≤ a.

The more than ogive curve gives cumulative frequency (probability) for x ≥ a.

cumulative frequency will be 50% of the total at intersection of the more than ogive and less than ogive

which is Median

As we know that Median is middle data when data is arranged ascending/descending

so  cumulative frequency will be 50%  at Median
