The value of k is 4.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : If the line passing through (4,3)and (2,k) is perpendicular to y=2x+3 .

To find : The value of k ?

Solution :

We know when two lines are perpendicular then their slopes product is -1.

The slope of line passing through (4,3)and (2,k) is

m_1=\frac{k-3}{2-4}

m_1=\frac{k-3}{-2}

The slope of the equation y=2x+3 is m_2=2

Now, product of their slopes is -1.

i.e. (\frac{k-3}{-2})(2)=-1

-(k-3)=-1

k-3=1

k=1+3

k=4

Therefore, the value of k is 4.
