If the line y = √3 x + k touches the circle x^2 + y^2 = 16, then find the value of k.

if this line touches the circle then it is reagent to the circle.
The tangent of circle is in the form of y=mx+-r√(1+m^2)
Now compare it with the equation.




Alternate method
put the value of y from equation of line in the circle and make a quadratic in x then calculate D=0 you will get the value of k
