3x+2ky=2

⇒3x+2ky-2=0

2x+5y=1

⇒2x+5y-1=0

For the lines to be parallel,

a1 = b1 ≠ c1

a2   b2  c2

⇒b1 ≠ c1

  b2   c2

⇒2k ≠ -2

   5     -1

⇒2k≠ 2x5

⇒k≠5

∴ For any value except 5, the lines will be parallel.
