Answer:

22.75 hours.

Explanation:

For finding the longitude of 140°. First we will have to find the longitude of the degree 1

therby if the longitude is 40 and 6:30 then probably the longitude of 1 should be?

find 6:30 in minutes (6×60)+30=390 minutes therfore the longitude at the degree 1 = 390÷40=9.75 minutes. The degree at longitude 140°= 9.75 × 140 = 1365 minutes. wich is probably 22.75 hours.

now the time at the degree 140 is 22.75 hours.

Thanks, hope it helps you.

1.36 AM

Explanation:

  • "Local time" is the "official time" in a specific region/nation. That is Local time denotes the "specific time" of a certain place that is expressed in relation to the "longitudinal" line which passes via the place
  • We know that local time of any place is determined by its "longitudinal location"
  • The time at 140°W longitude can be ascertained with reference to "know the time" at any given "longitudinal location"
  • he difference in the "longitudinal stretch" with "known reference" = 140°W-40°W = 100° (since they are west & west we minus as we need to go further behind in the longitude).Time that is taken to "travel longitudinal degree" that is, 1° = 4 minutes. We "multiply" it by 4 since the time difference between "2 longitudes" is "4 minutes".
  • Time taken for 100°= 100 * 4 = 400 minutes = 6.66 or hours
  • Since it is 6.30pm 40 degrees west , and the other  place  is at 140 degree west, this place willbe left of the first place and we will subtract time
  • Therefore, if it is 6.30pm at 140°W longitude, then time at 40°W longitude is "1.36 AM" (6..66 -6.30pm).
