If the mean is five observation is x,x+2,x+4,x+6,x+8 is 4 find the mean

4=(x+x+2+x+4+x+6+x+8)/5 4=(5x+20)/5 20=5x+20 20-20 =5x 0 =5x x=0 mean =4

The mean is already given in the question, so you might need the value for x.
After calculation, I have got my x=0 which is right as if kept in the mean equation , it will give the RHS.
