let the score of 50 students is 'x'

formula of the mean is  mean=\frac{total score }{students}

40=\frac{x}{50}

x=200

let the score of the other 100 students is 'y'

50=\frac{y}{100}

y=50\times 100

y=5000

The mean of total 150 students will be

mean=\frac{x+y}{150}

⇒    \frac{5000+200}{150}=34.66

So the mean of 150 students is 34.66
