Answer:

answer is 20

Step-by-step explanation:

15 = 10+12+18+13+p+17/ 6

15 = 17+p/ 6

15*6= 17+p

70+p = 90

p=90-70

p=20

Given: Mean of 10,12,18,13,p and 17 is 15.

To find The value of p

Solution: The computation of the average of a set of data is referred to as Arithmetic mean or simply Mean. The mean of any particular set can be calculated as the summation of the data from that particular set by the division of the number of data observed from that particular set.

We know that, Mean(m)=∑m/n

where ∑m= addition of data from the given set

           n= number of data to be observed

         ∴m=∑m/n

    ⇒15=(10+12+18+13+p+17)/6  [∵m=15 given]

    ⇒15=(70+p)/6

    ⇒15×6=70+p

    ⇒70+p=15×6

    ⇒70+p=90

    ⇒p=90-70

    ⇒p=20

Hence the value of p is 20.
