If the mean of 2 4 6 8 x y is 5 then find the value of x+y at 9th class level

I am in class 10 and I did it directly

Mean = sum of all observations/ number of observations

5 =( 2+4+6+8+x+y)/6

30= 20+x+y

=> x+y = 10
