If the mean of data 3,8,5,16 is ‘8’ then what is the mean of the data

3+x+8+x+5+x+16+x/4=32+4x/4=32+x is the answer

We know that ,

mean =  \frac{sum \: of \: all \: observations}{no. \: of \: observations}

Here , Observations are

➪︎ 3 + x ; 8 + x ; 5 + x ; 16 + x

No. of observations are 4

Substituting the values , we get

 \frac{3 + x + 8 + x + 5 + x + 16 + x}{4}

mean =  \frac{4x + 32}{4}

mean =  \frac{4(x + 8)}{4}

➪︎ Mean = ( x + 8 )
