Given : Mean of x + 2, 2x + 3, 3x + 4, 4x + 5 is x + 2

Total number of all observations = 4

Mean = sum of all the observations/total number of observations

x + 2 = (x + 2 + 2x + 3 +  3x + 4 + 4x + 5)/4

x + 2  = (10 x + 14)/4

4(x + 2)  = (10 x + 14)

4x + 8 = 10x + 14

4x - 10x = 14 - 8

-6x = 6

x = -6/6

x = - 1

Hence, the value of x is - 1.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x + 2 = (x + 2 + 2x + 3 +  3x + 4 + 4x + 5)/4

x + 2  = (10 x + 14)/4

4(x + 2)  = (10 x + 14)

4x + 8 = 10x + 14

4x - 10x = 14 - 8

-6x = 6

x = -6/6
