if the mean of X,X+4,X+6 and X+8 is 13, find the value of X

Mean (Average)= (x+x+4+x+6+x+8)/4=13
= 4x+18=13×4
=4x+18=52
=4x=52-18
=× =34/4
=x= 8.5

Therefore, mean =sum of given data/no. of outcomes or given data
Therefore, 13=x+x+4+x+6+x+8/4
13×4=4x+18
52=4x+18
52-18=4x
34=4x
34÷4=x
Therefore, x=8.5
