if the measure of one side of right triangular field is 42cm.If the difference of the lengths of hypotenuse and the other is 14cm . Find the side of the triangle and its area . ​

Given one side of the triangle as 42 m

Let the other side be x and hypotenuse be h

Hence h x = 14

⇒ h = x + 14

By Pythagoras theorem we know that square of hypotenuse is equal to sum of the squares of the other two sides.

⇒ (x + 14)2 = x2 + (42)2

⇒ x2 + 28x + 196 x2 1764 = 0

⇒ 28x 1568 = 0

⇒ 28x = 1568

∴ x = 56

h = x + 14 = 56 + 14 = 70 m

Area of triangle = (1/2) × 56 × 42

                           = 1176 sq m
