Answer:

x = 20

Step-by-step explanation:

the median of

12,13,16,x+2,x+4,28,30,32 is 23

There are total 8 Term

=> Median = (4th term + 5th term)/2

x+2,x+4 lie between 16 and 30

=> 1st three term are  12 , 13 , 16

Last two term are  30 , 32

4th , 5th & 6th Term would be

x + 2 , x + 4 ,  28  ( Not necessarily in this Sequence)

Case  1  : x + 4 ≥ 28

then 4th & 5th term would  be  x + 2   & 28

Median = (x + 2 + 28)/2 = 23

=> x + 30 = 46

=> x = 16

Then x + 4  = 20 < 28  so this case is not possible

Case 2    :  x + 4 < 28

=> 4th & 5th Term would be

x+ 2 , x + 4

Median = (x + 2 + x + 4)/2 = 23

=> 2x + 6 = 46

=> 2x = 40

=> x = 20

Value of x = 20
