If the median of scores X/2, X/3, X/4, X/5 and X/6 (where x>0) is 6, then find the value of X/6 .

arranging observation in ascending order, we find that no. of observation are odd. therefore (n+1)/2 term is median

where n is no of observations.

by this we find

median =x/4

6=x/4

x=2

substituting this value in x/6

we get

x/6=4
