if the midpoint of the line segment joining the points A(-k,5) and B(3,2k) lies on the line 3x+6y= -3 then find the value of k

First find the mid point of line segment AB.
it will be -k+3/2, 5+2k/2( by applying mid point formula)
now it is given that the mid point lies on line 3x+6y =-3 ...eq.(i)
now substitute the values of x& y in the above equation...
3*(-k+3/2)+6(5+2k/2) =-3
9-3k/2+30+12k/2 = -3
39+9k = -6
9k = -45
k = -5
