- It is identical of object (i.e., shape and size) but is reversed in the direction perpendicular to the mirror surface.
mirror image of a point with respect to axes :
- mirror image of a point (a, b) with respect to x - axis would be (a , -b).
- mirror image of a point (a, b) with respect to y - axis would be (-a, b).
here point is (5, 2).
step 1 : mirror image of (5, 2) with respect to x - axis is (5, -2).
∴ Q = (5, -2)
step 2 : mirror image of Q with respect to y - axis is (-5, -2).
∴ R = (-5, -2)
