a1=3-4=-1
a2=3-8=-5
common difference =(-5+1)=-4
now use formula
Sn=n/2 {2a+(n-1) d}
S16=16/2 {2 (-1)+(16-1)(-4)}
=8 (-2-60)=-8x62=-496
