The answer is 255

GIVEN

The nth term of an A.P = 4n² -1

TO FIND

The 8th term.

SOLUTION

The above problem can be simply solved as follows;

Given,

nth term of AP = 4n² -1

The first term of AP (Putting n = 1) = 4 -1 = 3

The second term of AP(Putting n = 2) = 4 (2)² - 1 = 7

Third term of AP (Putting n = 3) = 4(3)² - 1 = 35

aᵗʰ term of AP = 4a² - 1

We can find the value of any term by the following formula;

putting n = 8

= 4 × (8)² - 1

= 256-1

= 255

Hence, The answer is 255
