Answer: 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given nth term = 6n-4

First term , a =( 6× 1)-4

a = 6-4 = 2

⇒2nd term  = (6 × 2) - 4

⇒a+ ( n-1)d = 12 - 4

⇒2 + (2-1)d = 8

⇒2 + 1d =8

⇒d = 8-2

d= 6

∴Common difference = 6

Given:

nth term of an A.P [a_(n) ]= 6n-4

To find:

The common difference of the arithmetic progression

Calculation:

First term of the arithmetic progression is given by

     => a_(1) = 6(1) - 4

                  = 2

Second term of the arithmetic progression is given by

     => a_(2) = 6(2) - 4

                  = 8

Common difference(d)  = a_(2) - a_(1)

                                       =  8 - 2

                                       = 6

The common difference of the arithmetic progression(d) is 6
